The True Meaning of Partnership: Ceyentra Technologies and
Dialog Axiata PLC

Over the years, Ceyentra has become a technology powerhouse for enterprises including RigPro Inc, Future Fibers Ltd, LIPA LLC, APIIT, Dialog Axiata PLC, etc. Ceyentra - recognized as one of the best places to work in Sri Lanka in the IT/ITes sector in 2022, as evaluated by Great Place To Work. Our tech team and product specialists continue to influence the digital journey of the enterprises they work. This article reflects on a partnership going strong for three years with none other than Dialog Axiata (Sri Lanka’s largest mobile network operator with 17.1 million subscribers, which amounts to 57% of the Sri Lankan mobile market).

What defines a true partnership

A partnership becomes meaningful when things that matter to our partner also matter to us. From past experiences, you would know how difficult it is to work with teams who don’t understand the big picture. Most conflicts between partners arise due to this reason.

How it started

Ceyentra becomes a vendor of Dialog Axiata Group in the year 2018. In the beginning, we had no relationship with any employees at Dialog. It was business as usual when a manager at Dialog discussed the availability of our team to undertake an urgent project. The task was to develop a cross-platform mobile application to manage a large online event “Cyber Security Week” in 2018. And talk about aggressive timelines, 02 weeks! The manager communicated that none of the other vendors took on the task and the outcomes of the project couldnt have any quality compromises. Our team, always up for a challenge, took the project on in good spirit, considering the approval processes of the app store and play store are dependencies. Myself and the rest of the leadership had complete faith in the team and knew that they would do whatever it takes to complete the project to the satisfaction of the customer.

In spite of the tight timelines, we completed the assigned task according to the timeline and delivered the project successfully. The manager of Dialog was thrilled, and his trust in Ceyentra grew. We could have given a lot of excuses relating to the tight deadline, the main threat to the project. By understanding the priority of the Dialog team, we supported them wholeheartedly to achieve the desired impact. Here’s what Ramesh from Dialog had to say at the end of the project.

If you do it right, once is enough

Since then our partnership with Dialog has reached new heights and our partnership with them grew furthermore. Ceyentra managed to get a lot of referrals from other subsidiaries and departments of Dialog; Dialog IdeaMart, Dialog Sustainability Team, Dialog Marketing Team, Dialog Enterprise Team, Dialog Digital Services Team, and Dialog Mobile Broadband Team. Growing together

There are three products implemented to manage parking places, visitors and events of Dialog Axiata. They are Park Tags, Visitor Tags and Event Tags. Park Tags to eliminate the manual check-in process of all the 400 parking slots of Dialog Head Office. Where the new system checks in the vehicles automatically. Then, Visitor Tags manage all the visitors who visit the Dialog Axiata head office, reduce the queue at the reception and automates the check-in of visitor vehicles to parking. Finally, the Event Tags to manage all the events of Dialog Axiata Group. Dialog Axiata has become the sales partner of those products; a great privilege to Ceyentra. That would not be possible without maintaining the core values of a partnership.

Our most recent collaboration

Recently, Ceyentra and Dialog collaborated on a solution to one of the biggest conference halls in Sri Lanka, the Miracle Dome. The requirement was to manage 5000 visitors attending this conference hall. This solution is all in one application, and is co-created using the Tags ecosystem; the Park Tags, Visitor Tags and Event Tags. The experience we gained from Dialog head office was great to add more value to this system.

Ceyentra has managed to be the solution provider of public event portals such as the Vesak portal, Avurudu portal, Christmas portal, and Poson portal for more than three years in a row. Dialog Axiata is not just a client anymore; they are our partner and we look forward to learning and growing together. It is more than just a partnership. This partnership will grow further in the future as well.
